My First FPGA

I followed the tutorial included with the Alteration software called MY First FPGA. It didn’t go into great detail about why each step is being done, but for the most part, it made sense.

It walked through setting up a clock source, counter and multiplexer to display two different 4-bit sections of a 32-bit counter running at 5 MHz. I took it a little bit further and extended it to 8 bits of the counter. There’s 8 LEDs, so I might as well use them. I also moved a bit towards the LSB of the counter to get a bit faster counter

The push buttons seem to be a little sensitive to exactly how they’re pushed. It took a few tries to get it just right. Also, the clear acrylic (?) cover over it makes it slightly difficult to press the buttons with my (largish) fingers.
